FoHP board meeting will be held starting at 6:45pm at the Midtown Police Precinct Community Room (4020 Mineral Point Rd). Park in the parking lot and enter through the front door/lobby. These meetings are open to the public.

Winter Sowing Workshop

Join the Friends of Hoyt Park at Sequoya Library (4340 Tokay Blvd.) Community rooms A/B (10AM) for a workshop on Winter Sowing. We will show you how to make a mini greenhouse out of gallon plastic jugs and will provide native plant seed collected from Hoyt’s prairie areas or, for added diversity, purchased native seed. These seedlings will be planted in the restored areas of the park. Make two greenhouses and you can keep one for your yard. Bring the kids to this family-friendly event.

Volunteer Work Day — Help the Friends with their conservation efforts in the park. We will be clearing brush at the Overlook. Bring work gloves if you have them. Meet at the main parking lot at 10AM. More information on 2026 volunteer opportunities will be posted soon.

Volunteer Work Day — seed collecting. Saturday, October 18th the Friends of Hoyt Park are continuing their annual prairie seed collection. This is a great event for all ages. Bring hand clippers if you have them. Come spend some family time in nature by taking part in this fun event.

Fall Migration Birding Walk

Join the Friends of Hoyt Park and Feminist Bird Club member Megan Heneke on a walk through Hoyt Park. The Fall Migration is soon at its peak and Hoyt Park is a favorite stopping spot. Come on out to the park and bring your binoculars. Meet in the main parking lot. It should be an exciting morning.
