Volunteers are invited to a Hoyt Park workday hosted by the Friends of Hoyt Park. We will gather near the main entrance on Regent Street (near Capital High School). Street parking is available on Regent and Larkin St.
A FoHP volunteer will explain the monthly task and limited tools will be provided. We may be working in brushy areas so dress appropriately, bring gloves to protect your hands and wear solid shoes. These workdays are family friendly and a great way to meet people who care about our urban parks. FoHP will provide a light snack and water.
In October we will be planting native shrubs in newly cleared restoration areas at Hoyt Park. These native shrubs will provide food and shelter for the park’s wildlife and discourage regrowth of non-native woody plants. Bring a shovel if you have one and enjoy the colors of Hoyt Park in autumn.
