  • October 24th

    Join the Friends of Hoyt Park for our annual FULL MOON NIGHT WALK. We will lead short guided walks along park trails with several routes to accommodate a variety of activity levels. There will be a warm fire and hot beverages.

    6:30- 8:30 PM. We will meet at the Lower (Roy’s) Shelter accessed off of the Upper Bluff trail. Please note that the Hoyt Park bathrooms are closed for the season.

  • January

    Stay tuned for details. The FoHP will be having a Winter Seed Sowing Workshop again this winter . We will teach you how to make mini greenhouses out of gallon plastic jugs and provide you with materials to plant native seed. These native seedlings will be used to plant in park restoration areas.

FoHP board meeting will be held from 6:45pm-8pm and is open to the public. We will be meeting at the Midtown Police District community room (4020 Mineral Point Rd.)

FoHP Volunteer Workday

FoHP Volunteer Workday

Volunteers are invited to a Hoyt Park workday hosted by the Friends of Hoyt Park. We will gather at the main parking lot.

A FoHP volunteer will explain the monthly task and limited tools will be provided. We may be working in brushy areas so dress appropriately, bring gloves to protect your hands and wear solid shoes. These workdays are family friendly and a great way to meet people who care about our urban parks. FoHP will provide a light snack and water.

In November we will be cutting invasive brush up near the Overlook. Bring a loppers if you can.
