The History of The Friends of Hoyt Park

In 1995, Hoyt Park neighbors, concerned with the deteriorating condition of the Hoyt Park structures and natural areas, formed The Hoyt Park Citizens Advisory Committee tasked with raising awareness at the City level. This grassroots committee was incorporated as the non-profit Friends of Hoyt Park, Inc. in 1995.

Madison’s Capital Times newspaper covered the story below.

Recent Accomplishments – Ranger Reports

The Hoyt Park conservation rangers are a unique and valuable resource funded by the Friends of Hoyt Park. Each year the rangers summarize the work that has been accomplished. For the last several years we have been fortunate, through the generous gift of a FHP member, to have 2 rangers dedicated to Hoyt Park. The rangers are present in the park during much of the year and are available to address questions that park users may have, carry out conservation work and lead educational walks through the park. Take a peek below at what has been accomplished over the past couple of years.
